Welcome to General Gaming’s Top Five. Each week we take a quick look at five breaking news stories in the world of video gaming.
Microsoft is launching the Xbox One X on November the 7th. Offering 4k at 60fps a new 8 core CPU and backward compatibility plus it will feature a 1 terabyte hard drive. The console will cost $650 Australian or $450 US.
We’ve heard rumors that despite ongoing testing Playerunknown's Battlegrounds may be less than a month away from release on the XBox One. Having sold over 10million copies on PC alone it’s one of 2017's hottest games. The game has received an MA+15 rating in Australia, the second strongest classification available.
November is a huge month for the Nintendo Switch. On the 10th Doom, on the 17th Skyrim plus 5 or six more. This highlights Nintendo's goal to focus on the Switch as last week me mentioned the last Pokemon release on the 3DS. Two recent Switch updates have included the ability to transfer profiles between consoles and game capture. Earlier this week Netflix competitor Hulu announced a four new shows focusing on video gaming and esports. This will include a news show, tournament coverage, and other related programing. Bootcamp for example follows an eSports team and much like other reality tv allows viewers to witness life as a professional gamer.
